    Residents in and around St Neots are being urged to report suspicious activity as a spate of burglaries continues in the area. In October officers issued a warning and since that time there have been more than 80 burglaries in the town and surrounding villages, with the majority of offences happening during the day.     Police are appealing for witnesses to a burglary at a jewellers in St Neots. The incident happened at around 9.20am on Monday January 7 at Goldstraw on the Market Square. A man wearing a balaclava and gloves tried to smash the window of the shop but was unable to. The owner of the shop chased the man but was unable to catch him. Nothing was stolen.
